I’ve had this machine since the first generation oracle touch came out. All I can say is WOW, it was so worth the investment. I make cappuccinos, flat whites, cortados and Americanos in regular basis. I have my own settings saved and let me tell you, not having to fiddle around every morning to make a perfect cup is a God send. I do find that dark roast beans needs some tinkering I guess because the beans are more oily. stick to medium roast then you are all set for the perfect cup every time.

This is our third Breville semi auto espresso machine since 2000- our previous machines are BES900XL double boilers that have been maintained and moved to other homes, where they still work great.
I can see the Oracle builds successfully on the foundation of the old BES900XL, yielding a phenomenal machine that opens the door to high-end espresso for people that don't feel like buying a $2500 machine AND a $2000+ grinder. The touch screan is a huge improvement
The grinder in this unit is professional, fast and quiet also it is easy to maintain, and replacement of the outer burr (when it becomes necessary after many years) will be incredibly simple, as it unlocks and pops out in seconds.
We have owned the Oracle since May 2019 and have extracted an average of four shots per day since purchase. That's over 2,500 shots. In this time I have performed six cleanings and 3 descalings, both of which are very simple and easier than they were for the BES900XL.
If you live in an area with hard water, make sure you use a water softener, or better yet, deionized water. Hard water and infrequent descaling is the #1 reason espresso machines bite the dust.
You've heard it before but freshly roasted beans are absolutely essential to making good espresso. The digital numeric grind settings on the Oracle make it very easy to dial in the grind.
